Fees & Commissions: Transparent Pricing

Before trading, understand how much you pay. Fees significantly impact results.

Main Fee Types

1. Exchange Fee

This is Hyperliquid (or other exchange) fee for order execution.

Hyperliquid (Recommended):

  • Maker (you provide liquidity): 0.02%
  • Taker (you take existing order): 0.05%

Example:

You buy 1 BTC at $40,000
Maker fee: $40,000 × 0.02% = $8
You pay: $40,008 instead of $40,000

2. AI Traders Platform Fee

This is our fee for using bots.

Structure:

  • 20% from profit OR $50/month — you choose (minimum)

Example 1: Small Profit

You earned: $100
Our fee: 20% × $100 = $20
You keep: $80

Example 2: Larger Profit

You earned: $200
Our fee: 20% × $200 = $40 vs $50 minimum
You pay: $50 (minimum)
You keep: $150

Example 3: Loss

You lost: -$100
Our fee: $0
You don't pay when losing

Real Profit Calculation

Scenario: $1,000/month DCA on BTC

Monthly cycle:

Invested: $1,000
Exchange fees (4 trades × 0.05%): -$2
Investment available: $998

After month: position +5% = +$50 gain

AI Traders fee: 20% of $50 = $10 (or $50 min?)
→ $10 only (this profit is small)

**NET PROFIT: $40 (after all fees)

Exchange Fee Comparison

PlatformTrading FeeWithdrawalService
Hyperliquid0.02–0.05%$020% profit
Binance Futures0.02–0.04%0–0.5%
Kraken0.16–0.26%0.90–5%
Coinbase0.50–0.60%0–1%

Conclusion: Hyperliquid + AI Traders = cheapest option.

How to Minimize Fees?

Strategy 1: Fewer Trades

Wrong: 10 trades daily (lots of fees) ✅ Right: 1 trade daily (one fee)

Example:

10 trades × 0.05% = 0.5% daily fee
1 trade × 0.05% = 0.05% daily fee

Monthly: 15% vs 1.5% fees
Huge difference!

Strategy 2: Use Maker Orders

Wrong: Taker order (0.05%) ✅ Right: Maker order (0.02%)

How:

  • Maker: you place order, someone fills it (0.02%)
  • Taker: you immediately buy existing order (0.05%)

Bots usually use makers.

Strategy 3: Larger Per-Trade Amount

Wrong: $10 per trade ✅ Right: $100–$500 per trade

Example:

$10 trade: fee $0.005 (very small amount)
$100 trade: fee $0.05 (same % but bigger position)
$500 trade: fee $0.25 (better efficiency)

Relative impact shrinks with bigger amounts

Profit With Fees

Conditions:

  • Investment: $1,000/month (DCA)
  • Growth: +5% monthly (conservative)
  • Fees: Hyperliquid 0.05% + AI Traders 20%

Without Fees:

Invested: $1,000
Growth: +5% = +$50
Total: $1,050 (+5% ROI)

With Fees:

Invested: $1,000
Trading fees: -$0.50
Growth: +5% = +$49.75
AI Traders fee: 20% of $49.75 = -$9.95
Total: $1,039.80 (+3.98% ROI)

Result: fees reduced ROI by ~1%. Normal for bots.

Hidden Fees (Remember These)

Slippage

Difference between expected and actual execution price.

Example:

You want BTC at $40,000
Actual execution: $40,020
Slippage: +$20 (0.05%)

Bots minimize slippage with limit orders.

Bid-Ask Spread

Every price has a spread:

Example:

Bid (buy): $39,995
Ask (sell): $40,005
Spread: $10 (0.025%)

If you buy at Ask and immediately sell at Bid, you lose spread

Bots avoid spread with patient limit orders.

Optimal Config for Beginners

DCA Bot on Hyperliquid:
- Investment: $50–$100 daily
- Interval: daily (fewer trades = lower fees)
- Order type: limit order (0.02% fee)
- Strategy: simple DCA (low complexity cost)

Monthly expenses:
- Hyperliquid: ~$0.10–$0.20 per day = ~$3–$6/month
- AI Traders: 20% of profit (if profitable)

Total: cheap!

When Fees Become Problem?

❌ Very Frequent Trading

10+ trades daily = 0.5%+ daily fees = 15% monthly
Fees eat all profit!

❌ Very Small Amounts

$1–$5 trades = fees become disproportionate
Start minimum $50 per trade

✅ DCA With Low Frequency

1–5 daily trades = 0.05–0.25% daily = 1.5–7% monthly
Acceptable

Remember

Cheap ≠ Fast Trading

DCA with rare trades and low fees = gold standard for bots.
