Connecting Hyperliquid to AI Traders

Hyperliquid is a modern DEX with low fees and fast execution. Perfect for bots.

Why Hyperliquid?

✅ Low fees: 0.02% per trade (very cheap for bots) ✅ Fast execution: orders fill in milliseconds ✅ High liquidity: trade large volumes ✅ Secure: decentralized, you keep your keys

Step 1: Create Hyperliquid Account

1. Go to hyperliquid.xyz
2. Click Connect Wallet (or Sign up)
3. Choose method:
   • MetaMask (if installed)
   • WalletConnect (other wallets)
   • Email (simplest for beginners)

For beginners: use Email + password — easiest.

Step 2: Fund Your Account

After signup you need money:

Method 1: Transfer From Another Exchange

1. In Hyperliquid: open Deposit
2. Choose coin (e.g., USDT)
3. Copy deposit address
4. On other exchange (Binance, Kraken) send USDT to address

Time: 5–30 minutes

Method 2: On-Ramp (Direct Buy)

1. In Hyperliquid click Buy
2. Choose method (credit card, bank transfer)
3. Enter amount ($100–$1,000)

Time: 1–24 hours

Step 3: Get API Keys

Hyperliquid uses special bot mechanism:

Option A: Agent-Wallet (Recommended)

1. In Hyperliquid: Settings → Agents

2. Click Create Agent

3. Name it (e.g., "AI Traders Bot")

4. IMPORTANT: Set rights:

   • ✅ Trading (buy/sell)
   • ✅ Withdrawal (optional, better off)
   • ❌ Cannot change private key

5. Copy Agent Key and Agent Subaccount

This is safe because:

• Key has limited permissions
• Can disable withdrawals
• Your main wallet is protected

Option B: API Key (If No Agent Option)

1. In Hyperliquid: Account Settings
2. Click API Keys
3. Create new key
4. Set: trading only
5. Never share private key

Step 4: Add Hyperliquid to AI Traders

1. In AI Traders: Settings → Exchanges

2. Click Add Exchange → Hyperliquid

3. Fill form:

   • Agent Key: your copied key
   • Agent Subaccount: your subaccount number

4. Click Verify Connection

System checks:

• ✅ Key is valid
• ✅ Permissions set correctly
• ✅ Balance accessible

Step 5: Create First Bot

1. Click New Bot

2. Select Hyperliquid exchange

3. Choose pair (e.g., BTC/USDT)

4. Set parameters:

   • Strategy: DCA (beginners)
   • Investment: $50 daily
   • Interval: every day

5. Start in Paper Trading first

Security Reminders

🔒 Never Do This:

❌ Give private key to anyone ❌ Paste API key in chat ❌ Use one key for multiple bots ❌ Enable withdrawal in key ❌ Use key without time limits

✅ Do This:

✅ Use Agent-Wallet for bots (limited rights) ✅ Create separate agent per bot ✅ Disable withdrawals in permissions ✅ Rotate keys every 3 months ✅ Check activity history regularly

Verify Connection

After adding key to AI Traders:

1. Open Active Bots
2. Create test bot: $1 amount
3. Paper Trading mode
4. Check if first order executed within 1–2 minutes

If order executed — connection works!

Troubleshooting

"Invalid API Key" Error

• Copy entire key (no spaces)
• Create new agent
• Ensure you chose right agent

"Insufficient Funds"

• Check Hyperliquid balance
• Confirm deposit arrived (5–30 min)
• Try depositing more

"Trading Forbidden"

• Check agent permissions (should have ✅ trading)
• Recreate agent with correct rights
• Verify account not locked (check Hyperliquid Settings)
